Annemarie Hennessy
Annemarie HennessyPresident
Currently Deputy Executive Dean (Westmead), Faculty of Medicine and Health, at University of Sydney University from January 2024. Conjoint Emeritus Professor, School of Medicine, Western Sydney University.

She has an outstanding record in achieving impact through building partnership, identifying innovation, understanding industry, and working across government, business and community organisations. Her academic record shows research strengths in nephrology, preeclampsia, and hypertension. She is an awarded leader in the fields of women’s health and medical education. Annemarie has been the ISSHP president since the Montpellier Meeting in 2022, and has attended and been a member of ISSHP since 1992.

David Hall, MBChB, DipObst(SA), FCOG(SA), MMed(O&G) PGDip(Applied Ethics), MPhil(Applied Ethics), MD(Stell). Currently affiliated with Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital. Areas of expertise and clinical interests are Obstetric medicine, high-risk obstetrics and medical ethics. Dr. Hall’s clinical research interests include Pre-eclampsia, diabetes, preterm birth, and medical ethics.
Sarosh Rana
Sarosh Rana Secretary
Sarosh Rana, MD, MPH currently works at the University of Chicago in the United States. She holds the title of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Section Chief Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Secretary and Global Co-Chair ISSHP. Dr. Rana’s areas of expertise and clinical interests include Angiogenic biomarkers, disparity in obstetrical care, and postpartum hypertension. Clinical research interests management of pregnancies at risk for preeclamspia, chronic hypertension, lupus, and transplant.
Fergus McCarthy
Fergus McCarthyTreasurer
Fergus is a consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine Sub-specialist. He graduated with honours in Medicine from University College Cork in 2003 and received his PhD in 2012 for work investigating the aetiology and potential treatments for pre-eclampsia.
