Be Part of an Historic International Society

ISSHP-_0005

The International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy was founded in 1976. Its commitment to research excellence and support for junior research fellows, especially those from low-to-middle income countries, has garnered global recognition over a 40 year history.

It is recognised by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and The World Health Organization (WHO) and has ongoing joint initiatives with both these organisations.

Access to the Pregnancy Hypertension Journal

ISSHP-_0000

Pregnancy Hypertension: An International Journal of Women’s Cardiovascular Health aims to stimulate research in the field of hypertension in pregnancy, disseminate the useful results of such research, and advance education in the field.

The journal contributes to the understanding of human and animal blood pressure using a number of approaches, including:

  • physiology of circulatory control
  • pathophysiology
  • methodology, therapy or any other material relevant to the relationship between elevated blood pressure and pregnancy

The journal also reflects the wider aspects of studying hypertension in pregnancy. Content can include the investigation of in utero programming, nutrition, long term effects of hypertension in pregnancy on cardiovascular health and other research that helps our understanding of the etiology or consequences of hypertension in pregnancy. Case reports are not published unless of exceptional/outstanding importance to the field.

Support Researchers in LMIC Countries

ISSHP-_0007

ISSHP identifies the promotion of research in low-to-middle income countries as one of its core aims. To accomplish this, a percentage of membership proceeds are donated by the Society to provide travel bursaries for researchers in LMICs.

By joining ISSHP, you make an instant contribution to the understanding of hypertension around the world.
